A new section of the Ho Chi Minh Highway through the Central Highlands province Kon Tum opened to traffic on June 28, six months ahead of schedule.

The road from Dak To district to Dak Ha district and Kon Tum city has two lanes and is 23.7 km long.

Construction started 20 months ago, with a total investment of 860 billion VND.

On June 27, a 119km section of the Ho Chi Minh Highway through Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands region was also opened to the public.

The roads will help boost regional socio-economic development, as well as contributing to national defence and security.-VNA
