A monument honouring and commemorating the Hoang Sa Bac Hai fleet has been installed at an exhibition hall in Ly Son island district of central coastal Quang Ngai province, according to director of the provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Service Hoang Nam Chu.

The 30-tonne granite monument, made by sculptor Ha Tri Dung in coordination with the Hoan Hao business in northern Ninh Binh province, is part of a project to preserve and upgrade the Hoang Sa – Truong Sa historical relics in Ly Son district.

The project also includes the restoration of a temple to worship Pham Quang Anh, Hoang Sa fleet commander, and An Vinh Temple, in addition to a house of exhibition.

All the project items, cost over 15 billion VND, are expected to be inaugurated on the National Day, Sept. 2./.
