The runners-up were Nguyen Thi Thu Ha from central Ha Tinh province and Dam Thi Ly from the host province.
The beauty queen, Mrs. Yen, received a crown worth 200 million VND, 150 million VND in cash and a set of jewellery worth 10,000 USD.
Hoang Thi Yen, 33, is now director of the UPS Representative Office in HCM City.
Mrs Vietnam 2009 and the first runner-up will represent Vietnam in the 2009 Mrs World pageant to be held in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in November with the competition of nearly 100 contestants from other countries and territories.
The Mrs Vietnam 2009 pageant was held for the first time to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women who have got married, succeeded in life and made positive contributions to society./.
