The fifth Hong Kong-Nha Trang International Yacht Race concluded in the central coastal city of Nha Trang on October 20 after four days of fierce competition.

Ragamuffin 90 sailed to record victory while teams Chivas and Lucky came second and third respectively.

Departing from Hong Kong on October 17, nearly 200 sailors steered 17 boats from such countries as the UK, Australia, the US and China over 650 nautical miles (1,200km) to reach Nha Trang’s Bao Dai Resort.

Officially launched in 2004, the biennial tournament is organised by the Hong Kong Royal Yacht Club, the VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd and the Saigon Marina Co Ltd.

The event helps boost the tourism potential of Nha Trang and Vietnam in general. The country successfully hosted previous races in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.-VNA
