Large numbers of children have been admitted to hospital with diarrhoea, high fevers and respiratory diseases caused by the hot weather over the last few days, say doctors at the National Hospital of Paediatrics.

The hospital is receiving between 2,500-3,000 children for diagnosis daily, while the paediatric wards at the Ha Dong, Saint Paul , Thanh Nhan and Bach Mai Hospitals are seeing up to 700 children per day, up by 20 percent compared with last week.

To be careful, the Vice Director of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases Nguyen Hong Ha has suggested that people be vaccinated against the flu virus and keep high standards of personal hygiene.-VNA
