Nearly 19,000 children across Vietnam will benefit from two projects funded by the Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) through its Future First Funding Cycle over the next three years.
The projects to receive the bank’s support, worth ten billion VND (almost 500,000 USD), are run by the two charity organisations Dariu Foundation and Maison Chance.
The Future First programme gives educational opportunities and lessons in life skills, as well as vocational training for orphans, street children and underprivileged young people in Vietnam .
According to Chairman of HSBC Vietnam’s Sustainable Development Committee Scott Solberg, with the coordination of non-governmental organisations in Vietnam , the money will be used more effectively to meet the community’s demands and create long-term benefits for young people.
Future First, started in 2006, has helped more than 500,000 young and disadvantaged people in the world with a total sum of 40 million USD. The programme was launched in Vietnam in 2007, and has provided over one million USD through 28 projects, benefiting 72,000 young people.-VNA
