The Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Vietnam Ltd (HSBC Vietnam) has been named Best Bank in Vietnam by The Asset Magazine in their Triple A Country Awards for 2010 for performance in banking and finance sectors within Asia.

This is the third consecutive year that the bank received the award.

The Asset Magazine selected award winners according to their financial performance, scale of operation, spread of business, investment banking performance, corporate and transaction banking performance, contribution to the domestic markets and client testimonials.

Winning The Best Bank in Vietnam by The Asset Magazine is the latest in a long line of accolades for HSBC Vietnam in 2010. The bank was also awarded Best Foreign Bank in Vietnam by FinanceAsia for the fifth consecutive year; Best Consumer Internet Bank by Global Finance, Best Domestic Cash Management Bank by Euromoney, and Best Sub-custodian Bank by Global Finance.

In Vietnam , HSBC first opened an office in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City ) in 1870. In August 1995, HSBC opened a full-service branch in Ho Chi Minh City . HSBC also opened its second branch in Hanoi in 2005 and a new branch in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho in September this year./.
