As many as 200 scientists from around the world gathered at the 2nd Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems, which opened in the central city of Hue on March 24.

Co-hosted by Hue University and the Wroclaw University of Technology of Poland, the conference received more than 400 reports sent in by information technology (IT) experts.

The reports focus on intelligent information systems, artificial intelligence, intelligent technologies in IT and biology, intelligent calculation, intelligent software and intelligent social networks.

Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Khanh, Vice Director of the Science and Technology Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, said this was a chance for Vietnam to acquire the world’s IT achievements.

Vietnam has made progress in IT development and is ahead of some other countries in this field, Khanh said, adding that Vietnam has seen a number of IT advances applied to its socio-economic development.

The annual conference will run until March 26./.
