Hanoi (VNA) – The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) officially opened in Hanoi in the morning of January 26. On the sidelines of the opening session, many delegates shared their opinions on the draft documents submitted to this congress.

Delegate Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc (CEB), said that the draft document of the 13th Party Congress has many new points which emphasize the need to restructure State-owned enterprises.

He expressed his hope that the restructuring will help State-owned enterprises continue to promote their role as a core and an important driver for the country’s development in the new period.

Le Duc Tho, member of the standing board of the CEB’s Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), said that preparations for the 13th Party Congress, including the making of documents, are very thorough and careful.

Officials, Party members and people have pinned high hope on the congress’s decisions to continue developing the nation sustainably. They expect that the Party will concretise and institutionalise the contents of the Party’s guidelines and policies into the State’s policies and laws, and continue to perfect the apparatus of the political system so as to successfully carry out the Resolution and bring its contents to life, he said.

According to Tho, the contents of this draft document have made it clearer that economic development is the central task and Party building, the key task.

This is a right point of view which helps ensure rapid and sustainable development, added the official.

Sharing the view, Secretary of Bac Giang province’s Party Committee Duong Van Thai said that the documents submitted to the congress were prepared very carefully, thoughtfully, methodically, and scientifically.

These documents, especially the Political Report, are the product crystalising the intellectuality of the entire Party and people, he stressed.

For the 2021-2030 period, the Party has identified continuing to speed up Party building and rectification, and building a rule-of-law socialist state and a transparent and strong political system as the most important task, Thai said.

The Party building work has focused comprehensively, drastically and concertedly on politics, ideology, morality, organisation and personnel work, with the aim to developing competent personnel, especially managing officials, who can meet all the tasks, he added.

Bui Huy Thanh from the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong said that the documents of the Congress emphasize the importance of developing human resources, especially those working in the fields of science and technology and information technology infrastructure, because this is the most important and decisive factor for the national development.

He suggested the country continue promoting achievements in the next term, hoping that major orientations will be put forward during the Congress to help the nation overcome all difficulties and challenges and reach a new height.

The 13th National Party Congress saw the participation of 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide.

An important political event for the entire Party, army and people and a milestone in the development of the Party and the country as a whole, it bears future orientation significance, thus helping boost the country’s renewal, integration and development cause comprehensively and synchronously.

Documents submitted to the Congress not only reviewed the implementation of the 12th Congress’s Resolution in association with the assessment of the 35 years of renewal, 30 years of the implementation of the 1991 Platform, 10 years of the implementation of the 2011 Platform (amended) and the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy, but also set out the socio-economic development orientations and tasks for 2021 - 2025, as well as the goals and orientations for 2030 and the national development vision to 2045./.
