Hungarian NA Speaker wraps up Vietnam official visit

- Hungarian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Kover Laszlo left Ho Chi Minh City on late November 13, concluding his six-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

During his stay from November 8, the top Hungarian legislator held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung, met with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

At talks and meetings, the leaders spoke highly and occurred with orientations to promote links between the two legislatures, while agreeing to continue maintaining the exchange of delegations.

The two NAs will enhance experience sharing in their parliamentary activities, and work closely on supervising the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two Governments.

The two sides pledged to effectively implement cooperation projects, aiming to further strengthen connections in priority fields such as agriculture, water resources management, health care, and sustainable development.

On this occasion, Hungarian NA Speaker Kover Laszlo presented the Hungary Order of Merit Knight Cross to Prof. Vu Khieu, a senior researcher of Vietnam in recognition of his contributions to fostering friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The Hungarian guest also visited and had working sessions with leaders of the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, the central city of Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.-VNA
