The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association (VHFA) held a meeting in Hanoi on August 24 to mark the national days of Vietnam and Hungary.

Addressing the function, VHFA Chairman Nguyen Dang Vang said that cooperation between the two countries has kept growing in various spheres in recent years, spurred on by regular visits from their respective leaders.

He stated his belief that with the effort of both Governments and peoples, the bilateral ties can further thrive, helping citizens prosper while supporting peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

In the past, the VHFA has helped the two peoples learn about the socio-political, cultural and economic situation in each nation. It has also raised donations and presented scholarships to students and children of Vietnamese Agent Orange/dioxin victims.

Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Torda Eszter said she expects VUFO and VHFA to hold more activities to deepen the well-established ties between the two nations.-VNA
