IBM Vietnam presented 31 computer systems and study instruments worth more than 124,000 USD to the centres for children in Hanoi on December 28 on the occasion of its 10th yearly programme to bring informatics to the nursery education in Vietnam.

The IBM worldwide programme provides children with a chance to access information technology and use it as a study tool to best prepare for primary school years.

Vietnam is among 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region to enjoy the programme jointly held by IBM and the country’s Ministry of Education and Training.

The programme also handed 363 sets of Young Explorer computer system to 280 nursery schools, eight hospitals and five centres for children worth more than 1.6 million USD.

As part of the programme, IBM held training courses for nearly 2,000 officials and teachers from kindergartens as well as conferences and contests for teachers and children to explore their creativity. Up to now, more than 50,000 children have experienced the programme./.
