A training course to enhance the leadership capacity of women working in the State sector was launched in Hanoi on October 17, with female cadres from 51 cities and provinces nationwide taking part.

Jointly organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Vietnam ’s Foreign Ministry, the two-day course will educate the participants on world affairs and Vietnam ’s policy of global integration.

It will also provide an insight into how to host events and international seminars, as well as tips on communications and delivering speeches and reports at meetings.

On addressing the event, Nguyen Nguyet Nga, the head of the Foreign Ministry’s Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department and Country Deputy Director for the Foreign Ministry – UNDP Project, said the course will provide female cadres with the latest communications and management skills, to help strengthen links between the Foreign Ministry, and local foreign services.

Louise Chamberlain, the UNDP’s Country Director in Vietnam, said the course will help female cadres to become better leaders, which will contribute to joint efforts to improve gender equality in the country.-VNA
