Vietnamese environmental managers and regional field experts on July 22 gathered in the central city of Da Nang at a seminar, sharing experiences in the management of persistent organic pollutants (PoPs) and appraisal of impact of POPs on health.

The seminar was held under a project on improving the capacity of the Southeast Asian region in the management of health risks posed by POPs.

Participants at the event learned about some technical processes for the treatment of POPs in regional countries, as well as strategies for addressing POPs in Da Nang in particular, and Agent Orange in Vietnam in general.

The seminar, which will run until July 24, will also provide an opportunity for participants to learn how to apply the guidelines of the Stockholm Treaty in Southeast Asia./.
