Both businesses and visitors to a Vietnam-China trade fair, scheduled to take place in the northern border province of Lao Cai on November 2-7, will receive incentives such as tax exemption, said organisers.

Deputy Director of the provincial Service of Industry and Trade Vu Xuan Hong said Chinese products to the fair will have to just clear the customs procedures while being free from duties.

Other incentives for interested Chinese businesses include full exemption of border gate taxes, bridge tickets and fees for customs procedures and quarantine as well as pavilion rents.

Meanwhile, interested domestic businesses will receive 50 percent of subsidies for their pavilion rents from the Trade Promotion Department.

Visitors to the fair, both international and domestic, are offered with duty-free products for their purchase of goods valued at less than 500,000 VND/ a day.

As a result, the organising board has so far received registration for 300 pavilions from domestic businesses, which are expected to increase to 400 at the end, and 200 pavilions from Chinese businesses.

The fair has also reserved areas for showrooms of industrial and handicraft products such as wooden furniture, tractors and automobiles./.
