The Prime Minister has approved an increase in State funding for a space science complex in the central coastal province of Binh Dinh, which is expected to cost a total of over 171.1 billion VND (8.1 million USD).

Of the figure, 160 billion USD (7.6 million USD) will now be sourced from the State budget, 60 billion USD (2.85 million USD) higher than the original estimate.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance will be responsible for ensuring the efficient use of the sum in accordance with the Law on Public Investment.

Built on Quy Hoa beach in Quy Nhon city, the complex will comprise a planetarium, a science museum and an astronomical observatory as approved by the provincial authorities on December 30, 2014.

Milou Architects (France) has been selected as the consultant and designer of the planetarium.

Along with the International Centre of Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE), also located in Quy Nhon city, the new project will help turn Binh Dinh into a venue for Vietnamese and international scientists.-VNA
