Index of industrial production enjoys impressive growth
The index of industrial production in the first 11 months of 2022 is estimated to increase by over 8% year-on-year, doubling the 4% of the same period last year.
According to the General Statistics Office, in the reviewed period, the processing and manufacturing industry grew by 9%, contributing 6.8 percentage points to the overall growth; electricity production and distribution by 8%, contributing 0.7 percentage point; and the mining industry by 6.5%, contributing 1 percentage point to the overall increase.
In the contrary, the index of several industries recorded decreases, including manufacturing of rubber and plastics products (7%), and manufacturing of basic metals (2.6%).
61 provinces and cities saw rises in the 11-month index of industrial production, with the highest recorded by Bac Giang, Can Tho and Vinh Long./.
