New Delhi (VNA) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a 30-day free visa for Indonesian citizens.

The decision was announced on May 30 during the Indian PM’s visit to Indonesia, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

Modi also invited the diaspora to travel to their country of origin to experience the 'New India'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a three-day official visit to Indonesia from May 29 as part of his tour to three Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The next stop in his tour is Kuala Lumpur where he is due to have talks with new Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

In Singapore, PM Modi wants to boost bilateral cooperation in financial technology, skills development, urban planning and artificial intelligence. The two countries’ leaders are expected to discuss business opportunities and investment potential.

On June 1, PM Modi will have a meeting with Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and hold talks with PM Lee Hsien Loong before delivering a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue.-VNA
