India is ready to cooperate and share experience with Vietnam in preserving domestic animal genes.

The statement was made by the India National Dairy Research Institute during a recent visit by a delegation of the Vietnam National Institute of Animal Husbandry.

At working sessions, the two sides discussed preliminary contents of a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in domestic animal gene preservation.

While in India from Dec. 31 to Jan. 14, the Vietnamese delegation visited the National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR) and the National Diary Research Institute in Karnal of Punjab state. They discussed with the Indian counterparts on preservation of domestic animal genetic resources and application of bio-informatics in the field./.
