New Delhi (VNA) – Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on November 21 said that India’s collaboration with ASEAN and East Asia has been deepened.

Speaking at an event in the capital city of New Delhi, Jaishankar said India’s relationships with ASEAN and East Asia are associated with the era of reform and nations in the regions have been agents of change and partners in trade and investment.

The upgrading of Look East to Act East policy signifies the shift in India’s diplomacy, which also includes security and strategic dimensions. The country’s Think West initiative shows its more substantive economic cooperation with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran, among others, he said.

The foreign secretary also highlighted the SAGAR doctrine initiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform India by developing blue economy alongside other leading initiatives of the country, such as Digital India, Skill India, Smart Cities, and Start-up India.-VNA
