Indian Coast Guard Ship, Sankalp, docked at Sai Gon port on March 22 morning, starting its journey to Ho Chi Minh City.
On the same day, the ship’s captains and officers were received by Standing Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tai.
At the talks, Deputy Chairman Tai and Captain S.D.Bhanot shared their viewpoints in the two countries’ time-honoured friendship and cooperation in numerous areas such as politics, economics, national defence, culture, education, tourism and the exchange of people.
During its five-day visit to Vietnam , Indian soldiers and crews will enter into sports exchange with forces of the Vietnam Marine Police and explored several tourist destinations in the city.
Sankalp is the first offshore patrol vessel of India with 147 members and it is one of the biggest ships owned by the Indian Coast Guard./.
