Indian mass media on November 18-19 gave extensive coverage on the official visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam ( CPV ) Nguyen Phu Trong to the country.
Major newspapers such as “Economic Times”, “Times of India” and “Business Standard” republished the interview General Secretary Trong granted to the Press Trust of India (PTI). They stressed that through this visit, Vietnam and India will further lift their bilateral ties.
“Hindu” newspaper on November published a 4-page colour foldout, carrying the CPV chief’s biography, portrait and his interview with PTI in full.
Many news websites ran articles highlighting the traditional friendship and close relation between Vietnam and India , which has been further developed over the past years, as well as the economic achievements and international integration of Vietnam, together with the images of the country’s landscape and people.
The “Indian Express” ran an article by Dr. Raja Mohan, distinguished fellow of the Observer Research Foundation, who suggested the two countries exploit all possible potentials to further boost the bilateral ties in all fields.
