Ship INS Sudarsini, the latest tall sail training ship (STS) of the Indian Navy, arrived in Bali, Indonesia on October 27, the first ASEAN country in its friendship tour to mark the 20-year India- ASEAN relations.

Shyam Sundar, the ship’s captain, said that it is great honour for him and his crew to make the voyage aiming to strengthen the fine dialogue partnership between his country and ASEAN member countries.

According to the captain, the INS Sudarsini ship, set off on September 13 with 73 sailors on board, is scheduled to anchor at 13 ports of nine ASEAN member countries, which lie on sea routes formerly used by Indian traders of the ancient era.

Before docking in Bali, the ship anchored at Padang port in South Sulawesi province. It will travel to Manado port in North Sulawesi on Oct. 31 to conclude its first ASEAN tour’s leg in Indonesia and sail over to other countries.-VNA
