Jakarta (VNA) - Two warships from the Indonesian Navy's Fleet Command II and two others of the Brunei Darussalam Navy (TLDB) have entered the sea phase in the 21B/24 Helang Laut Joint Exercise in Java Sea from November 20-23.
Head of the Information Service of the Indonesian Navy's Fleet Command II Colonel Widyo Sasongko said on November 20 that the Indonesian Navy deployed KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 and KRI Tombak-629, along with a Panther HS-1311 helicopter.
Meanwhile, the Brunei Navy deployed KDB Darulaman (08), KDB Syafaat (19), and special forces Navy Surface Action Group (NAVSAG), he revealed.
Helang Laut Joint Exercise is an activity routinely held by the Indonesian Navy and TLDB every two years alternately in the waters of Indonesia and Brunei.
The joint exercise aims to improve the interoperability of the two parties and hone their capabilities in conducting various types of operations at sea./.
