Indonesia and China held their first ever high-level economic dialogue in Beijing on January 26 in a bid to bolster bilateral cooperation.

Sofyan Djalil, Indonesian coordinating minister for economics, said his country is willing to promote cooperation with China in the fields of investment, trade, infrastructure and special economic zones.

Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi recalled that the two countries reached agreement on bolstering bilateral economic ties during the visit of President Joko Widodo to China last year.

During the meeting, the two sides put forth initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of bilateral collaboration in different fields and promoting their comprehensive strategic partnership which focus on the expansion of bilateral trade as well as on collaboration in electric power and infrastructure.

They concluded the talk with the signing of letters of intent for power plant cooperation.-VNA
