Indonesia and China have signed a package of economic and trade cooperation agreements worth 6.6 billion USD.

The agreements, covering finance, energy, electricity and agriculture, were signed in the Indonesia capital city of Jakarta on Nov. 8 right after Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China held talks with Marzuki Alie, speaker of Indonesia's House of Representatives.

During the talks, chairman Wu proposed to achieve the set goal of raising two-way trade volume to 50 billion USD by 2014 and expand bilateral cooperation in investment and trade to further promote the economic and trade relations between the two nations.

China also encourages its businesses to participate in major construction projects in Indonesia, Wu said./.
