Hanoi (VNA) – The Indonesian Government is reviewing the possibility of Indonesia's participation in the Vaccinated Travel Lanes programme to revive its tourism sector, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has said.

Addressing a press conference following an evaluation meeting on the mobility restriction policy on November 15, Hartarto said President Joko Widodo asked ministries and agencies to scrutinise the pandemic situation in countries before establishing any travel agreements.

The Vaccinated Travel Lanes programme is a tourism concept implemented by several countries, including those in the Asia-Pacific, that is geared toward fully vaccinated travellers who possess vaccination certificates.

Earlier, Indonesia and Malaysia discussed a plan to reopen a bilateral travel corridor to restore their tourism sectors./.
