Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia will establish the National Cyber and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force to strengthen national digital resilience and uphold human rights.
During a limited coordination meeting on June 30, Andika Dwi Prasetya, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction, stated that formation of the task force aims to strengthen regulations and governance related to AI and cybersecurity that are just and fair.
In a written statement on July 1, he underlined the significance of cross-sector synergy, noting that forming the task force will reinforce national digital resilience and ensure that the development of information technology and AI in Indonesia aligns with the principles of justice, security, and respect for human rights.
Deputy Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus highlighted the importance of comprehensive digital transformation, including the utilisation of data analytics, cloud computing, AI, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to drive digital innovation and resilience.
He further explained that establishing the task force is a strategy move to confront challenges and maximise opportunities in digital technology.
During the meeting, representatives from relevant ministries and agencies agreed to form the task force to more effectively respond to the increasingly complex developments in the cyber and AI sectors./.
