Indonesia police arrest four suspected terrorists

Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s
counter-terrorism squad, known as Densus 88, have arrested four suspected terrorists who are members
of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in West Java province.
Spokesman for the INP, Senior
Superintendent Ahmad Ramadhan, said three suspected terrorists were arrested during
a raid on June 16 in Pangandaran district, West Java. These suspects participated
in training with the JAD in preparation for terrorism acts in September 2019.
On June 18, Densus 88 also arrested another suspected
terrorist in Tasikmalaya, West Java.
The JAD is currently the largest IS-linked terrorist group
in Indonesia, which carried out several bomb attacks in the Southeast Asian country. The latest attack was an explosion outside a Catholic church in
Makassar, South Sulawesi province on March 28. The blast resulted in
the death of the two perpetrators and injured 20 other people./.
