Indonesia gets ready for the upcoming polls slated for July 9, the third direct and domestic presidential election since the country’s political reform that started in 1998, an election commission official has said.

Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Husni Kamil Manik made the statement at a July 7 press conference, informing preparations for the election as well as a programme inviting international observers to the event.

He said more than 190 million eligible voters nationwide will cast their ballots for the nation’s next President for the 2014-2019 term.

Of them, over 2.03 million expatriates voted at Indonesia’s 130 overseas representative agencies between July 4 and 6, he noted, adding domestic voters will do at 478,685 polling stations across the country, he said./.
