Indonesia’s newly-accredited Ambassador and Permanent Representative to ASEAN Rahmat Pramoto presented his letter of credentials to the group’s Secretary General Le Luong Minh on January 23.

In a meeting following the presentation ceremony, Minh highlighted the importance of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR)’s work this year, as the group is at a critical stage in the building process of the ASEAN Community in 2015.

He spoke highly of Indonesia’s contributions and strong commitments to ASEAN, saying that he wants to closely coordinate with Ambassador Pramoto.

Pramoto, who is former Secretary of the Directorate General of the ASEAN Cooperation under the Foreign Ministry, reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment towards setting up the ASEAN Community, and also stressed the need to increase people’s awareness of community-building efforts.

He is the country’s third Permanent Representative to ASEAN since the establishment of the CPR in 2009.-VNA
