Indonesia sets goal to vaccinate 75 million people against COVID-19
Indonesia’s Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) is targeting to supply non-subsidised vaccines to 75 million people within the next eight or nine months, said BUMN Minister and Chief Executive of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Erick Thohir.

The Health Ministry said medical workers will be the first group to be vaccinated. Around 32 million people will be entitled to subsidized vaccines.
The ministry will also establish cooperation with private hospitals and clinics to implement the vaccination programme for those willing to pay for the vaccines.
The BUMN minister revealed that Indonesia will wait for another 1.8 million doses of the vaccine in the next stage of vaccine shipment in January 2021, and an additional 15 million of raw materials to be utilised to produce vaccines by Bio Farma, also in January 2021.
The Indonesian government has spent nearly 45 million USD on purchasing vaccines from China this year.
In the first phase, 1.2 million doses of vaccine arrived in Indonesia and would be used in early 2021. The next phase will see 1.8 million doses delivered in January 2021./.
