– The Indonesian government is expanding a stimulus package worth 27.17 trillion rupiah (1.8 billion USD) in a bid to further prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on March 18.

The funds include the allocation of 10 trillion rupiah for central authorities and another 17.17 trillion rupiah set aside for provincial administrations, she said.

The move follows the two previous packages launched in recent weeks, comprising an allocation of 22.9 trillion rupiah on March 13 and 10.3 trillion rupiah on February 25.

As of March 18, Indonesia had recorded 227 COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths./.
