Indonesia vows to gradually reduce coal fuel at COP26
Indonesia has agreed to gradually reduce coal fuel at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, the UK.

Regarding this issue, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said that Indonesia could stop using coal in 2035 if the country receives financial support from power countries.
The funding is necessary to build a renewable energy power plant to replace a steam power plant that uses coal, he added.
Indonesia has committed to following the Paris Agreement, with a target to cut emissions by 29 percent unconditionally by 2030. The country also adopted the Indonesia Long-Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience until 2050, as well as a detailed roadmap to achieve the goal of net-zero emission in 2060 or sooner./.
