Indonesian Culture Day opens in Can Tho
The Indonesian Culture Day was held at Can Tho University in the Mekong Delta city Can Tho on June 5.
The Indonesian Culture Day was held at Can Tho University in the Mekong Delta city Can Tho on June 5.
The event was co-organised by Can Tho City’s Union of Friendship Organisations and the Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 60 years of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Indonesia.
The event aimed to introduce the diverse culture of the thousand islands country, contributing to strengthen the solidarity, friendship and knowledge between Vietnamese and Indonesian peoples, looking towards the ASEAN Community.
Activities at the event included booths displaying Indonesian traditional products and art performances by Indonesian artists.
Besides, local students and their Indonesian peers joined in dances of both countries and watched a film introducing Indonesian culture.
Deputy Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Truong Quang Nam said the special event is a bridge to develop relations, cooperation on many areas between Indonesia and the city in the time ahead.
Can Tho welcomes artists, investors and travellers from Indonesia to the city for exchange, sightseeing and investment, he added.-VNA
