Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on May 22 arrived in the Philippines, beginning a three-day state visit to the country.
According to Indonesian Presidential Spokesman Teuku Faizasyah, Yudhoyono will hold talks with his Filipino counterpart Benigno A. Aquino III to discuss how to further enhance their bilateral cooperation, especially in trade, investment, disaster mitigation, immigrant protection and people-to-people exchange.
They also compared notes on their common concerns and regional and international issues.
During the visit, the two leaders will witness the signing of several important memoranda of understanding (MoU), especially those concerning the delimitation of an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) boundary in the Mindanao and Celebes seas after 20 years of negotiations.
The MoU is expected to help cement the bilateral relations between the two nations in the coming time, Teuku Faizasyah said.
Yudhoyono will also attend and deliver a speech at the ongoing World Economic Forum on East Asia 2014 in the Philippines.-VNA
