Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited victims of recentsuicide bombings at the Kramat Jati police hospital on May 25.

Doublebomb attacks occurred at the Transjakarta bus station in the Kampung Melayuarea, east of Jakarta on May 24, killing three police officers and wounding 12people.

PresidentWidodo shortened his visits to Malang, East Java and Boyolali, Central Java tovisit the victims of the bomb attacks in Jakarta.

TheIslamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks. It stated thatthe attack was carried out by IS soldiers.

Earlier, Indonesian police announced the blasts werelinked with IS and revealed the identity of the two suspected suicide bombers,who both died in the attack. They were Ichwan Nurul Salamand Ahmad Sukri, both 31 years old.

Salam lived in the metropolis of Bandung in West Javaprovince, while Skri was a tailor in Garut town.

This was the bloodiest attack in Indonesia since the Jakartasuicide bombings in January 2016.-VNA
