The Ministry of Industry and Trade has predicted that industrial production will expand by 6-6.5 percent by the yearend as its growth in the second half will be moderate.

In the first half of the year, industrial production edged by 5.8 percent against the same period last year, sending out a positive signal of the sector’s recovery and development.

At an online meeting reviewing the first-half industry performance in Hanoi on July 7, the ministry recommended industry businesses to proactively diversify their raw material suppliers as heavy reliance on one client is risky.

In the reviewed period, electricity production and distribution experienced the highest rise of 10.9 percent, followed by the processing industry, 7.8 percent, and the sewage treatment sector, 5.9 percent.

Industries enjoying high sales included electrics, computers, leather, and textile.-VNA
