Intel-the world leading information technology group launched aprogramme in Hanoi on April 24 to offer computers to Vietnamesepeople with an effort to improve the IT appliance in their daily lives.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Director ofIntel World Ahead Programme in Asia-Pacific Carlos Martinez said theprogramme is expected to give people, especially those in remote andmountainous areas, more opportunities to own computers by offeringcomputers and providing guidance or assistance.
Inits first phase from April 24 to June 30, it will work with its agentsin 24 localities nationwide to offer computers designed for theprogramme with reasonable prices.
IT courses will also be held for people as part of the programme.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Tran Duc Lai spokehighly of Intel’s programme, which helps students and people, especiallyin remote, mountainous and island areas, get access to IT, thuscontributing to training human resources for Vietnam.-VNA
