Vietnam’s State Audit Office in coordination with the World Bank hosted a donor conference on June 21 to strengthen international cooperation for implementing an action plan for its 2020 development strategy.
Speaking at the event, Chief of the State Audit Office Nguyen Huu Van said the action plan focuses on improving the legal basis for the audit organisation, developing its human resources and modernising its audit methodology.
The State Audit Office noted that international organisations’ support helps Vietnam improve its audit quality to meet regional and international level.
It receives the trust and positive collaboration of some foreign partners, such as the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development and Australia, Denmark and Canada’s agencies for international development.
The audit performance of overseas aid programmes and projects has contributed to strengthening Vietnam’s accountability and transparency.
The State Audit Office has established partnerships and received from 15 international organisations.
At the event, participants discussed audit programmes and activities that need funding in the coming time, and offered appropriate solutions to implement the action plan for the 2020 development strategy.-VNA
