International dental seminar opens in Hanoi

A three-day international seminar on dentistry started in the capital city of Hanoi on July 28 with the participation of nearly 1,500 leading foreign and local dentists.

In the seminaropening address, Minister of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu said that hisministry has instructed and encouraged local hospitals to promote theapplication of scientific achievements and modern technologies inpeople’s health care, especially in dentistry.

Inaddition, the country’s dentists had boosted cooperation and sought newtechnologies from foreign partners, the minister said while explainingreasons behind the improvement in dental and mouth care, particularly ofchildren.

The seminar heard 32 presentations onodontology issues, including teeth transplantation , mouth operationsand diseases related to teeth and mouth.

On thesame day, participants visited an exhibition on dentistry that displayeddental equipment, materials for dentistry and dental and mouth careproducts made by leading firms from the US, Germany, France, the UK,Japan, the Republic of Korea and Israel./.

Health experts warned that prolonged heat exposure could cause heatstroke, heat exhaustion and other serious health conditions.
