International Windsurf Race closes

Vietnamese windsurfers won first prizes in both the men’s and women’s races at the annual International Windsurf Race or the 14th Fun Cup 2013 that closed on February 23 in Phan Thiet city of the central Binh Thuan province.
Vietnamese windsurfers won first prizes in both the men’s and women’s races at the annual International Windsurf Race or the 14th Fun Cup 2013 that closed on February 23 in Phan Thiet city of the central Binh Thuan province.

Nguyen Van Rot finished first in the men’s event. He was followed by Ho Van Vinh from Vietnam and Tanguy Gilles from France.

In the women’s event, Tran Thi Kim Chi from Vietnam became the winner. The runners-up were Montserrat Collado Orive from Spain and Deborah Khoo from Singapore .

The two-day competition drew about 30 windsurfers from nine countries competing in races from 2,400m to 3,200m.

Phan Thiet City, a beautiful place for windsurfing in Vietnam, has hosted a number of tournaments, including the annual Fun Cup International Windsurf Race and the Professional Windsurfers Association's World Cup event.

The event is also a chance for the Binh Thuan province to prepare for the 5 th Asian Beach Games in 2016.-VNA
