Int’l arrivals to Vietnam slightly rise in January

International arrivals in Vietnam are estimated to hit over 6.5 million in January, representing a slight year-on-year rise of 2.2 percent.

Of the total, 397,000 came for vacations, up 6.4 percent, while 111,000 others were on business trip, up 0.9 percent.

The Republic of Korea led other countries and territories in the number of visitors to Vietnam during the month, with 84,300 arrivals, up 39 percent.

It was followed by Australia with 41,300; Russia , 25,800; Malaysia , 23,000; and Thailand , 21,100.-VNA
