Int’l conference on Vietnam’s literature to be held
More than 200 representatives from 39 countries will take part
in an international conference on the promotion of Vietnam ’s
literature abroad scheduled to be held in Hanoi and northern coastal

literature abroad scheduled to be held in Hanoi and northern coastal
Quang Ninh province from Jan. 15-19, 2010.
Poet Huu Thinh, President of the Vietnamese Writers Association (VWA), said that the conference is expected to help foreigners better understand Vietnam ’s literature as well as its renovations, outstanding works and writers.
It will focus on the inventory of translators and translated works as well as copyright issue
The programme of the conference will also include seminars, visits and meetings.
On this occasion, the VWA will open an exhibition of foreign works of literature translated into Vietnamese and Vietnamese translated literary books.
Following the first conference held in 2002 with the participation of representatives from nearly 20 countries, around 30 Vietnamese works of literature were translated into foreign languages./.
