Officials from 35 international diplomatic corps and the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry visited central Quang Tri province on July 26 to learn about economic and investment situations in the province.

The delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son, Chairman of the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, was briefed by the local authorities about the province’s socio-economic development, its potentials and fortes, particularly those related to the East-West Economic Corridor, tourism and sea-borne economy.

The international delegation showed their interests in various fields and made suggestions of the use of the East-West Economic Corridor, human resource training, exploitation of the province’s off-shore gas field and the My Thuy deep-water sea port.

Deputy FM Son informed the international delegates about the Vietnamese Government’s open policies to lure more foreign investment in Quang Tri province, which, he said, would help the locality to soon overcome war aftermaths and develop international cooperation for mutual benefits./.
