Creating opportunities for domestic manufacturing enterprises to select advanced products and technologies was the target of the international exhibition of electronics and manufacturing technologies, which is being held in Hanoi.

“Now enterprises should be swift to gain successes and experiences to be equipped, rebound and develop when the world economy recovers,” said Deputy Minister of the Industry and Commerce Nguyen Thanh Bien at the opening ceremony of the expo in Hanoi on May 20.

He added that over the past years, the manufacturing industry always played a leading role in the development of the country’s economy. Some sectors brought high economic efficiency, namely automobile spare parts, electronics and electricity, attracting much interest and investment from overseas.

A representative of the event organiser - Reed Tradex CEO Nichapa Yoswee, highly valued potential and strong growth of Vietnam ’s manufacturing industry in the recent past.

She further informed that Reed Tradex plans to organise some expos on other industries in Vietnam in 2012 to contribute to boost the development of Vietnam ’s industry, as well as economy in the future.

The three-day expo, called “The Vietnam Manufacturing Expo and NEPCON Vietnam 2010”, drew the participation of 450 local and foreign enterprises from 25 countries and territories./.
