The third Vietnam international exhibition on animal husbandry, dairy and meat processing and aquaculture 2010 (ILDEX Vietnam 2010) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from March 25-27, attracting 180 businesses from 22 nations and territories.

It is the first time the expo, the largest of its kind so far in Vietnam , has included aquaculture, seafood and meat processing, Hoang Kim Giao, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Husbandry Department said, adding that the new sectors at the expo see annual growth rates ranging from 10 to 15 percent.

The event is an opportunity for the domestic animal husbandry sector to learn and apply advanced technology from other countries and boost the export of their products, according to Giao.

Vietnam mainly exports piglets and honey, at a modest volume of 18,000-20,000 tonnes and 15,000-20,000 tonnes, respectively, per year./.
