The Vietnam International Fashion Fair (VIFF) 2013 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on November 1 to promote home-made products to both Vietnamese and international customers.

On display are materials and garment-textile products at nearly 300 stalls from over 200 businesses nationwide, including renowned brands like Viet Tien, Nha Be, May 10 and NEM.

Under the theme “Rhythm Time”, the fair will host fashion shows to present the latest collections by Viet Tien, Binh Minh and Hoa Tho companies, and the Fashion Design Institute (Fadin).

According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa, the garment and textile industry has greatly contributed to national exports, employing over 2.5 million workers and enjoying a growth of over 15 percent every year.

During the first nine months of this year, Vietnam’s garment-textile export value surpassed 13 billion USD.-VNA
