The Prime Minister has given the nod to the organisation of an investment promotion forum in the Central Highlands slated for Sept. 5 in Dak Lak province.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), the forum is part of the national investment promotion programme in 2009.

Themed “Central Highlands: Waking up potential,” the forum aims to provide investors with information on the region’s investment climate and priority projects and create conditions for regional provinces to promote investment, to improve local people’s spiritual and material lives.

According to the organising board, 500 local and foreign participants are expected--leaders of provinces in the “development triangle” of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), among others.

A press briefing on the forum will be held in Hanoi on Aug. 12 and in Ho Chi Minh City on Aug. 19./.
