Deputy PM Nhan made the statement at a conference in Hanoi on December 3 to review 10 years of implementing the Politbo’s Directive 58 on applying information technology in national modernisation and industrialisation and implementing the project to turn Vietnam into a strong IT nation.
The Deputy PM highlighted the sector’s achievements over the past decade, raising awareness on the role of IT and its importance in society and widely applying IT in various areas.
In addition, the sector formed an IT industry with rapid growth, promoting IT human resource development, contributing to building a national trademark and prestige in terms of information technology as well as attracting direct investment from strong countries, he added.
However, Deputy PM Nhan pointed out limitations in applying IT in ministries and localities, in human resource development and infrastructure for IT development./.
